Cape Bag Group has evolved from a modest bag trading and manufacturing operation founded in 1935 into one of South Africa's most established packaging conglomerates, and the leading bag manufacturer in the Western Cape.

Today the group comprises three specialist companies: Cape Twines & Packaging (retail since 1969), Cape Bag (woven polypropylene manufacturing), and Cape Bulk Bags (FIBC bulk bag specialist, Blackheath). Together they serve retail customers online and large scale trade operations across all nine South African provinces.

From a single factory floor to 10,000+ products online, the address at 177 Albert Road, Woodstock has remained constant. The ambition has only grown.

Cape Bag Founded

Cape Bag established as a bag manufacturing plant in the Western Cape. Products sold into agricultural, chemical, industrial, engineering, construction and mining sectors from day one.

1969

Cape Twines & Packaging

Retail division opens at 177 Albert Road, Woodstock, growing into South Africa's largest importer of hessian and jute seaming twine, serving local, national and international markets.

2000s

Cape Bulk Bags Launched

Cape Bulk Bags established in Blackheath to serve the growing FIBC and industrial bulk bag market, with capacity ranging from 500kg to 2,000kg SWL.
