We're proud to announce that Cape Bag Group has been featured in the NAMPO 2026 edition with both a full-page advertisement and an accompanying editorial feature, "Cape Bag Group: 90 Years of Excellence, Investing for the Future."
NAMPO is one of the most important agricultural showcases on the African continent, bringing together farmers, industry leaders, and suppliers from across South Africa and beyond. Being featured in this edition is a meaningful milestone and a fitting platform on which to mark our 90th anniversary year.
90 Years of Quality, Innovation and Trust
Since our founding in 1935, Cape Bag Group has grown from a modest bag trading and manufacturing operation in the Western Cape into one of South Africa's most established packaging conglomerates. Today, the Group comprises three complementary divisions, each a leader in its field:
- Cape Bag (Pty) Ltd our flagship division and South Africa's leading manufacturer of woven polypropylene bags, with continued growth driven by sustained capital investment.
- Cape Twines & Packaging (CTP) established in 1969, and South Africa's largest importer of hessian and jute seaming twine, supplying more than 1,000 packaging products to industrial and agricultural customers locally, nationally, and internationally.
- Cape Bulk Bags (CBB) a strategic pillar with more than 25 years of experience, specialising in Flexible Intermediate Bulk Containers (FIBCs) for major corporations across agriculture, commodities, chemicals, and mining.
Together, these divisions serve the agricultural, chemical, industrial, commodity, construction, and mining sectors throughout South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Investing in the Future
The editorial feature highlights what really sets the Group apart, not just our heritage, but our unwavering commitment to reinvestment, innovation, and strategic growth. Over the past three years in particular, we've accelerated our trajectory by expanding manufacturing capacity, strengthening our product offering, and deepening our footprint in key markets.
As Robin Uys, Group Managing Director of Cape Bag Group, says in the feature:
"Ninety years is a milestone we're immensely proud of, but for us it's not about looking back. It's about what comes next. We've invested significantly in our people, our production capabilities, and our capacity to serve customers across the continent. The next chapter for Cape Bag Group will be our strongest yet."
That investment shows up everywhere in the business, from extensive capex driving improved manufacturing efficiencies and elevated product quality at Cape Bag, to expanded production capacity at CTP, to the in-house quality control and rapid turnaround times that have become CBB's competitive advantage.

Why NAMPO Matters to Us
Agriculture is one of the cornerstone sectors we serve, and NAMPO is where the industry comes together. Participating in trade shows like NAMPO, alongside other key local and international events, is central to how we stay at the forefront of industry trends, forge new partnerships, and demonstrate our continued commitment to improvement.
Featuring in this year's edition gives us the chance to connect with the farmers and agribusinesses who depend on reliable, high-quality packaging every season and to share the story of what Cape Bag Group has built, and where we're heading next.
Looking Ahead
Cape Bag Group's ambitions extend well beyond Cape Town. With a clear focus on expanding deeper into South Africa and across Sub-Saharan Africa, and with a diversified group structure backing every move, we're poised to enter our strongest chapter yet.
For businesses seeking a reliable, quality-driven packaging partner with deep roots and a forward-looking vision, Cape Bag Group stands ready.
